- Certificate of Completion: Your course completion will be electronically transmitted to the Virginia DMV within 24 hours after you successfully pass the final exam, and we will email you the certificate of completion shortly thereafter. What is the Correct Reason for Attendance?

The course helps you satisfy one of four reasons for attendance:
1. Court-Ordered
- You have attended your court date for the ticket you received, and a judge has ordered you to take a driver improvement course so you can have your traffic ticket dismissed.
- You must complete the course by a date given to you by the judge.
- Once completed you can file the certificate of completion with the court’s Clerk’s Office and your ticket will be dismissed.
- Make sure you have paid your court costs.
- Customers directed by the court must provide documentation from the court before Safe Driving Points can be awarded.
2. DMV-Ordered
- The DMV notified you in writing to take a driver improvement course—you have accrued too many demerit points over a short period of time.
- You must complete the course to avoid a license suspension.
- Successful completion of the course will add up to 5 Safe Driving Points to your license.
3. Voluntary
- You wish to add up to 5 Safe Driving Points to your driving record, or you are taking this course ahead of your court appearance.
- You can also take the course voluntarily to learn a new skill and brush up on the latest safe driving practices.
- Safe Driving Points may be earned every 2 years on a voluntary basis.
4. Insurance Discount
- You wish to earn a discount on your insurance.
- Your insurance company may be able to offer you a discount.

The online driver improvement course and final exam must be completed through a DMV-licensed online driver improvement clinic. No paper test permitted. - Course
The online driver improvement clinic course is an eight-hour course, including the final test, and is designed to rehabilitate problem drivers. The course must be completed in its entirety prior to the issuance of a certificate of completion. - Student identification verification
Student identification will be verified throughout training and prior to taking the final test to ensure that the person taking the course is the same person taking the final test. - Court-ordered
Customers directed by the Court must provide documentation from the court before safe driving points can be awarded. - Certificate of Completion
The certificate of completion will be electronically transmitted to all individuals upon successful completion of the course within 24 hours. - Comments of concerns

If you hold a commercial driver’s license in Virginia or any other state, this computer-based driver improvement clinic / traffic school will not satisfy a driver improvement clinic requirement. You must satisfactorily complete a clinic that provides classroom instruction.
