Court-ordered
– A judge ordered you to take a driver improvement course so you can have your traffic ticket dismissed.
– You must complete the course by a date given to you by the judge.
– Once completed you can file the certificate of completion with the court’s Clerk’s Office and your ticket will be dismissed.
– Customers directed by the court must provide documentation from the court before Safe Driving Points can be awarded.
DMV-ordered
– The DMV notified you to take a driver improvement course—you have accrued too many demerit points over a short period.
– You must complete the course to avoid a license suspension.
– Successful completion of the course will add 5 Safe Driving Points to your license.
Voluntary
– Learn a new skill, brush up on information, and earn 5 Safe Driving Points which will be applied to your license.
